Blueberry Kefir Panna Cotta with Cardamom, Oranges, and Cinnamon

I was asked by #CollectiveBias to purchase Lifeway Kefir for this shop, and decided to whip up a five-minute panna cotta using orange segments, cardamom, and whipped cream from a can. Keepin’ it classy, ladies, you know you want these #kefircreations. Kefir originates from the Caucasus Mountains, so I wanted to keep a middle eastern flavor profile to this without detracting too much from the natural flavors of the yogurt, which is pleasantly thick and creamy.

The panna cotta was easy- using one packet of unflavored gelatin, I simmered the kefir with water to make it a little thinner, along with cardamom and cinnamon, and added the gelatin to thicken it up. When the mixture was cooled, I poured it in layers with orange segments, macerated blueberries, and whipped cream for added fluff. Pretty easy. After chilling for an hour, it was ready for dessert out on the deck.DSC_9069-2This was definitely a versatile dessert, and I imagine the other kefir flavors could be customized in a similar vein- strawberry and basil, natural with coconut and sea salt.
